Maggie Bright and Dark — Thatcher’s Detractors Rage Before Rigor Mortis

By now we’ve read comments from across the pond — and from both sides of the aisle — on the passing of Britain’s former Prime Minter Margaret Thatcher. She was a polarizing figure to be sure, and when her detractors went to Facebook to post Elvis Costello’s anthem against her Iron Ladyship, comments spewed immediately. Most of these were screen-captured moments before they were deleted. While laurels were wreathed upon President Reagan’s staunchest alley and Rupert Murdoch’s favored fodder in much of the media today, history will record that, as these comments attest, she was in death — as she was in life — not a woman who inspired tepidity.
