Six months after the fatal shooting that left twelve people dead and another fifty-eight wounded in Aurora, Colorado, another gunman has opened fire in the small town. Four people, including the gunman, are reported dead.
On Saturday, in the early morning hours, police evacuated the neighborhood outside Denver when they learned of a possible armed-hostage situation.
The alleged shooter was also reportedly killed, following a failed six-hour hostage negation with police, although it is unclear if he was shot by police or turned the gun on himself. Prior, one hostage managed to escape and alert the authorities.
The gunman, who had barricaded himself in a second-story townhouse, exchanged fire with police at 8 a.m. this morning. After lobbing tear gar into the home, police stormed the building where they found three victims plus the sniper.
None of the names of the deceased have yet to be released.
