The Week in Smirk — 11.18.12

| November 18, 2012

On Thursday, General Petraeus told HLN’s Kyra Phillips that he was  — wait for it — “in shock” over the sex scandal that forced him from office. We’re actually in shock that he’s shocked. Here’s what we said about it earlier this week. Also on Thursday, Governor Romney made a call to his financial supporters and had an utter breakdown. Earlier it was reported that Romney was “shell-shocked” at learning he’d lost and then said the president’s victory was because Obama gave gifts to people.  Speaking of gifts, Romney is proving to be a gift that just won’t go away  — like scabies or bed bugs.  Meanwhile journalists on the left end of the media have promised to stop kicking the governor while he’s down, if only he’d just stay down. For five minutes.  And memes about Twinkies clogged up everyone’s Facebook news feeds almost as quickly as the artificial cake-like products are able to clog your arteries.
