The Week in Smirk – 06.24.12

On Tuesday The New York Times reported that New York is poised to pass a law that will allow surveillance cameras to issue instant tickets to speeding drivers  The GOP squirmed over how to address the president’s new executive order on immigration policy, as Republicans now see undecided Latino voters closing in the gap toward the DemocratsRomney finally settled on the exact opposite stance he held just two month’s prior, now saying he would actually “replace and supersede” Obama’s policy. Oh, OK.   On Saturday,  the cover of The New York Times featured two articles, side by side, about pedophiles:  one featured Sandusky (who is now on suicide watch), while the other uncovered a cover-up in the Catholic church. (Tithe big this week, parishioners; lawyers are pricey!) The bullied bus monitor who was cruelly tormented by a pack of future cat-killers, and real-life Rhodas from The Bad Seed, received half a million dollars in donations, which was collected by sympathizers who saw the viral video of her taunting And in the United States, and much of the world, Gay Pride is celebrated — Happy Pride, everyone!
